F1 Drops the Canadian Grand Prix in 2009

Posted in In the News by Noah on October 7th, 2008

The FIA has reportedly dropped the Canadian Grand Prix from the F1 circuit in 2009, meaning that F1 will not make a stop in North America next year. There are not many details, but it is thought that it stems from a dispute between local officials and the FIA over sponsorship. Hopefully whatever beef the FIA has with Montreal can be ironed out, as it would be unfortunate if F1’s tenure in North America has come to an end.
