Gary Faules’ Shelby GT-350 is too cool.

It is no secret that here at The Pansy Patrol we revere the Miata as one of the best track cars for the money. They are cheap, have amazing part availability, and are easy to track because of their light weight. Well, today I came across a car that I am extremely impressed and excited by that is about as opposite from those things as you can expect. I’m talking about Gary Faules’ Shelby GT-350 clone that was mentioned last week on The Garage.

Some quick background: according to his blog, Gary Faules is an accomplished racer (and Olympic Skeet shooter) who fell in love with his original Shelby GT-500. He has built his own GT-350 Shelby clone, which him and his team refer to as “Lucky”, and they are even producing a documentary about the car and its upcoming race.

The car has been meticulously race prepped, and based on the videos over at The Garage:

the car looks like it will be very competitive. He is building it to race in La Carrera Panamericana and we’ll obviously have to follow his progress. No matter what kind of cars you are into, I hope you can appreciate how nice this car has turned out.
